Weather Forecast: Hot, Humid Conditions to Continue

We had a mix of sun and clouds with a few afternoon storms for our Thursday with temperatures climbing to around 90 degrees.

While our highs are not outrageously hot, the humidity is what’s making it feel more like triple digits. Expect much of the same for the end of our work week and into the weekend before rain chances pick back up early next week.

Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. Temperatures will be warm, falling into the mid-70s.

Plenty of sunshine will start our Friday as temperatures quickly climb into the mid to low 90s. While nearby high pressure will not allow for widespread rain, there is still enough moisture to spark a few showers and storms during the afternoon.

This moisture will also keep the humidity high and it will feel more like 100 degrees for most. Expect much of the same this weekend, then a slight increase in the rain by Monday.

Beach and Surf Conditions

If heading to the beach, surf conditions will be poor to fair with an easing east-southeast swell. Do keep in mind a moderate rip current threat.

Boating conditions hold a slight chop on the water with breezy winds, along with a few offshore storms.

Tropical Update

In the tropics, no new development is expected in the next five days.

The next name on the list is Chantal.

Hurricane season doesn’t peak until September 10, and it runs through November 30.
