Lisa Bullock Biography

Lisa Bullock (birth name: Lisa Downs) is an American from Montana who is a Research and Development Manager for Court View Justice Solutions. She is also the wife of the American politician Steve Bullock, the Governor of Montana.

Lisa Downs comes from a family of six and she is the oldest child born in an Irish family. She and her siblings were raised in a Catholic setting. Her father was a psychology professor while her mother was a nurse.

Lisa is the wife of Governor Steve Bullock, hence, she is the first lady of Montana. It is not known when the couple got married. They have three children together, namely; Caroline Bullock, Alexandria Bullock, and Cameron Bullock. Lisa is passionate about athletics and enjoys skiing, hiking, and playing basketball. Her passion led her to take up the role of being a coach in her kids’ basketball teams.

Lisa Bullock Education and Career

In her younger days, Downs attended public schools and graduated from the system in 1985. She then enrolled in Carroll College in Helena for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Math and Computer Science. After earning her first degree, she attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles for a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics.

After her studies, Downs took up a job as a high school teacher teaching Mathematics and Computer Science. She left teaching and worked for several high-profile companies like IBM, MAXIMUS, Northrop Grumman, and Public Knowledge. She works for Court View Justice Solutions (CJS) as a Research & Development Manager. CJS engineers, installs and supports justice information and process management systems.

Alongside her managerial job, Bullock is on the Board of Trustees of Carroll College, the Montana Meth Project and has served on the Boards of the Helena Area County Community Foundation and the Red Cross.

She has an initiative with her husband in which they advocate for feeding kids who come to school hungry. Through this, she assists in providing ‘Breakfast After The Bell’ grants to Montana schools. Lisa is also a force behind the starting of the Montana STEM Mentors. This is an initiative that asks women in Montana to be active leaders in their communities young women who are interested in STEM related careers. For this, she is the Board Champion for the Montana Girls STEM Collaborative Project.
