Heather Myers is an 8-time Emmy award winning American reporter, news anchor and weather reporter for CW News 8 AM Anchor/CBS 8 Weather at KFMB-TV. She works and lives in San Diego, California.

She is hard working and earnest in her ventures, Heather is a dedicated reporter but also does a great job of balancing her work life with her personal life. Heather is a married woman with two sons whom she loves and dotes over regularly. She spoke in an interview about how she loves to hurry back home to spend time with her family and pets when she finishes working.

Myers was born and raised in San Diego, California. She graduated with Poway High School before moving on to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism at San Diego State University.

Heather Myers Career

After college, Myers joined NBC San Diego and worked as a writer for over 2 years from February 2000 until February 2002. Soon after leaving NBC San Diego, she joined KYMA TV in Yuma, Arizona as an anchor and reporter and spent over 1 and a half years at the station before leaving in October of 2003. She returned to San Diego in late 2003 and started working for CBS News 8.

At first, she was a fill-in anchor and reporter but soon, she was covering big stories such as the California wildfires in 2007 and other local, national and international breaking news bulletins. Myers was a part of the CBS News 8 team for a little over 4 years & left in October of 2007. A month after leaving CBS News 8, she headed to the San Diego 6 News team as a morning anchor and a host after spending some time as one of their weeknight anchors.

She also worked for Bay City Television for over 8 years as a host and news anchor. In December 2015, she returned to CBS News 8 in San Diego and started working as a weather reporter and morning news anchor. As of 2019, she still works for the station and can be seen on the weekly news covering various breaking news stories and giving detailed weather reports. Myers has won a total of 2 Associated Press Awards and 8 Emmy Awards.

She has worked as a volunteer for the San Diego Salvation Army for several years and is a part of the San Diego Humane Society where she acts as an emcee at various fundraisers and charity events. Heather is also a part of the UNITE non-profit which is based in North County. She is also a sports fan and supports the San Diego Gulls and San Diego Padres sport teams.
